The football match, held at BT Sport Arms Park, home of the Cardiff Blues, took place to raise money for cancer centre Velindre of which Martyn Williams is a patron.
As the Official Match Ball Sponsor, Mercieca helped the captain’s to raise awareness of the match, which raised over £20,000 for the charity. Martyn Williams ‘Egg Chasers’ were managed by Jonathan Davies MBE, and included ex-Wales internationals Ryan Jones, Tom Shanklin and Lee Bryne. On the attack were Gethin Jones ‘All Stars’, managed by Welsh international Jamie Roberts, and including Olympic silver medallist Jamie Baulch, ex-footballer Craig Bellamy and ex-international cricketer Graeme Swann.
