Writer Stephen King once said that ‘books are a uniquely portable magic’ and we couldn’t agree more. That’s why we’re hugely excited about the addition of another new client at Mercieca - Yorkshire based book publisher Pen & Sword. Along with its imprint White Owl Books, the company has appointed us to handle the broadcast PR for a portfolio of new launches, including ‘The Full Monty’ by former England cricketer Monty Panesar and ‘1918: The Decisive Year in Soldiers’ Own Words & Photographs’ by world war historian Richard van Emden.
“We knew 2019 was going to be a jampacked year for us and we wanted to ensure that our writers receive the best exposure. Having worked with Mercieca previously to launch new books with Olympian Sam Quek and ex cricketer James Taylor, we were really impressed by not only the strength of their media network but also the standout opportunities that they were able to deliver. They’re both tenacious and passionate – a superb combination for us.”
Adds Mercieca PR director Gemma Oakes: “We’re really excited about this latest win. Pen & Sword and White Owl Books have such a wide breadth of writers on their roster from historians and nutritionists through to sporting stars. We’ve already delivered coverage across This Morning, Sunday Brunch and Good Morning Britain, which has directly impacted on book sales.”
