“The International Communications Arts Awards is the most prestigious accolade there is for what we do, and we’re over the moon to see our work recognised in this way."

We’re celebrating not one, but two award wins at the International Communications Arts Awards. Our Creative Director Pete Calvert has been recognised for our latest Winsor & Newton campaign – the photography series White World and the single photography Winsor Red have both been awarded best-in-class use of photography in advertising.

Winsor & Newton, a brand synonymous with the world’s finest art materials, briefed us to reaffirm its premium positioning through a new visual language that would roll out across all communications. We commissioned one of the most coveted still life photographers, Timothy Hogan, to create a series of striking images that portray Winsor & Newton’s range of links, paints, brushes and pens as works of art in themselves.

Using dramatic upward angles and ultra-hard lighting, the photographs evoke the impression that the items are positioned on gallery pedestals, giving them a heroic Hogan look.

Our Creative Director Pete Calvert explains: “Winsor & Newton is synonymous with outstanding quality. For inspiration, we looked to different sectors including cars, fragrances and jewellery, the imagery that they use and the brand stories that they tell.

“The International Communications Arts Awards is the most prestigious accolade there is for what we do, and we’re over the moon to see our work recognised in this way. It’s the result of brilliant team work with Timothy, and the creative freedom given to us by our clients at Winsor & Newton.”
